LAST month we finished reading Wardrobe Crisis by Clare Press in our Circle Movement book club. And we are pleased to say we LOVED it.
As many of you already know, we’ve been on the ethical fashion journey for a couple of years now, wrestling with our relationship to fashion. We’ve been trying as best we can to become more sustainable and ethical (hence our ethical clothing social enterprise). So, for us Wardrobe Crisis landed in our laps at the perfect time.
I must say, this booked helped add another layer of understanding. It broadened our appreciation of the political and social forces that shape the clothes we wear. In a non-condemny way Clare’s book and her approach to fashion has allowed us to love fashion again but in a more mindful way that is better for people & the planet #MakeFashionGreatAgain
So, when we heard Clare (who also happens to be one of the female change makers in our ‘She the Change’ directory) was continuing the Wardrobe Crisis conversation in the form of a podcast, aptly titled ‘Wardrobe Crisis’, we couldn’t hit ‘subscribe’ quick enough!
She’s got some fascinating and diverse guests (from designers, makers, creatives & influencers, to industry heavyweights, academics, scientists & change-makers) lined up, as they decode the fashion system, and DIG DEEP INTO ITS EFFECTS ON PEOPLE, PLANET & OUR COLLECTIVE PSYCHE.
Wardrobe Crisis, the podcast will unzip the issues that face the $2.4 trillion global fashion industry today, with a focus on ethics, sustainability, conscious consumerism, activism, identity and creativity.
WARDROBE CRISIS SERIES 1 launches on iTunes on June 7, 2017 (with a teaser episode). Episode 1 drops June 14.
